Apple Turnover
This very quick and simple Apple Turnover recipe uses supermarket puff pastry and a basic apple filling. Thaw the sheet of puff pastry in a microwave on high for 50 seconds, covered with a damp cloth.

- 1 Sheet Puff Pastry
- 2 Apples Granny Smith
- 2 tbsp Butter
- ½ Cup Brown Sugar
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp Nutmeg
- 2 tsp Water
- 2 tsp Corn Starch
Glaze
- 1 Egg
- 1 tbsp Water
- 1 tsp Cane Sugar
Procedure
- Peel, core and slice the apples
- Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat
- Cook the apple slices for about 2 minutes, then add the sugar and spices
- Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring with a spatula until the sugar and apple liquids combine
- Combine the water and corn starch, then add to the apple mixture, cooking until thickened. Remove from heat.
- Thaw the Puff Pastry in a microwave on high for about 50 seconds, covered by a damp towel. Cut into 4 equally-sized squares
- Scoop equal portions of the apple filling into each square, then fold into a triangle
- Bake at 400°F for approximately 15 minutes. While baking, prepare the egg wash by whisking the egg with 1 tbsp of Water
- Just as the puff pastry has finished rising, but before it starts to brown, remove from the oven to quickly brush with egg wash. Sprinkle with cane sugar and return to the oven, removing once fully browned.
