Chinese New Year Rice Flour Cake

This is a simple, sweet side dish made around the time of Chinese Lunar New Year that goes well alongside congee.

Chinese New Year Rice Flour Cake

Ingredients

  • ¾ Cup Rice Flour Non-Gluten Style
  • ¾ Cup Rice Flour Glutinous
  • ¾ Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup Filtered Water

Procedure

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl, then whisk until thoroughly combined
  2. Pour into a lined glass container, then steam for about 45 minutes
  3. Allow to cool to room temperature, then chill overnight
  4. Thinly slice, then fry with one egg (optional) in a shallow saucepan
