Devil's Food Cake
A basic, dependable chocolate cake recipe that's much better than the powdered pre-mix versions. The relatively low baking temperature keeps the cake spongy and moist

Equipment
Pre-heat Oven to 325°F
Ingredients
Dry
- 1 cup AP Flour
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- ⅓ cup Cocoa Powder
- 1 cup White Sugar
Wet
- ½ cup Canola Oil
- ½ cup Coffee
- ½ cup Milk
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Procedure
- Sift together all dry ingredients
- Using an egg beater, add all wet ingredients and combine fully
- Pour batter into a standard loaf pan and bake at 325°F until middle becomes firm (about 45-60 minutes)
- Allow to cool, slice in half and use premade frosting to "glue" the halves together
