Dutch Oven Clafoutis
Clafoutis is a rural French baked custard desert, from a region of France where black cherries are common. When other fruits like tangerine, apples, plums or cranberries are used in the filling, it is called a flaugnarde

Equipment
Pre-heat Oven to 400°F
Ingredients
- 12 oz Black Cherries
- 2 Eggs
- ¼ cup Fine White Sugar
- ½ cup Milk
- ½ cup AP Flour
- 1 tbsp Icing Sugar
Procedure
- Place cherries around the bottom of a well-buttered dutch oven
- Whisk eggs and sugar together until frothy and then add remainder of ingredients to form the batter
- Pour batter evenly over the cherries and bake in a campfire or 400°F oven
- Remove when golden brown (approximately 25 minutes) and allow to cool. Garnish with icing sugar
