Vanilla Ice Cream

This is a basic, custard-style ice cream recipe that should work in most ice cream makers.

Ingredients

  • 1 Can Evaporated Milk
  • 1 Cup White Sugar
  • 2 Cups Heavy Cream
  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ tsp Salt

Procedure

  1. Whisk together all ingredients in a saucepan and place on medium-high heat.
  2. Continue to whisk until the liquid heats to about 140°F.
  3. Remove from heat and thoroughly chill the mixture in a fridge.
  4. Follow the instructions on your ice cream maker to churn into ice cream.
