Cabbage Rolls
These Eastern Europe-style Cabbage Rolls are simple to make and can serve as a main or side dish.

Equipment
Preheat Oven to 350°F
Ingredients
- 1 Head Green Cabbage
- ½ White Onion, Thinly Diced
- ½ tbsp Butter
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
- ½ tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Cup Long-grain Rice, Cooked
- ½ lb Ground Pork
- ¼ lb Ground Beef
- 1 Can Tomato Sauce (15oz)
- 1 Cup Water
Procedure
- Cut the base of the cabbage off and discard the first few leaves. Begin steaming the cabbage in a pot over the stove while you prepare the filling
- Sauté the diced onions in the butter until they begin to brown. Remove from heat and mix in a large mixing bowl with the cooked rice and ground meat
- Season with black pepper, garlic powder and salt, to taste. Mix together the rice and meat stuffing until thoroughly combined
- Once the cabbage is completely steamed (just as it begins to lose its green color), remove from heat and allow it to cool to the point where it can be handled
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of filling into each steamed cabbage leaf before wrapping and placing in a small casserole dish
- Mix the tomato sauce and water, then pour over the cabbage rolls. Cover with aluminum foil
- Bake in a 350°F Oven for about 1 hour, then remove and serve with sour cream
