Tonkatsu Sauce

This western-inspired Japanese sauce is similar to Brown Sauce (HP Sauce). While primarily meant for Tonkatsu fried pork cutlets, this milder, sweeter version of the sauce can be paired with many deep-fried dishes.

Tonkatsu Sauce

Ingredients

Four Servings

  • ¼ Cup Ketchup
  • ¼ Cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Mirin
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce

Single Serving

  • 1 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ tsp Brown Sugar
  • ¼ tsp Mirin
  • ¼ tsp Soy Sauce

Procedure

  1. Mix all ingredients and serve over a fried tonkatsu cutlet
