Green Bean Casserole

An easy and delicious side dish for Thanksgiving Turkey dinner

Green Bean Casserole

Equipment

Pre-heat Oven to 350°F

Ingredients

Fried Onions

  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 White Onion Finely Sliced, Rings
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 cup AP Flour
  • 1 Deep Frying Oil Peanut or Canola

Casserole

  • 3 cans Green Beans
  • 2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup

Procedure

Fried Onions

  1. Slice the Onion using a mandolin slicer on its finest setting
  2. Place the onion slices in a mixing bowl and sprinkle with salt
  3. Pour Buttermilk over the onion slices and allow to soak for 15-30 minutes
  4. Drain excess Buttermilk, then toss individual rings in flour, taking care that they don't clump together
  5. Fry in hot peanut or canola oil until medium brown

Casserole

  1. Place Green Beans in casserole dish and pour Cream of Mushroom soup over to coat
  2. Bake at 350°F for approximately 30 minutes, or until soup is boiling and starting to slightly brown at the edges
  3. Remove from oven and place the fried onions that were prepared earlier on top. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving
